Para Pro Custom 14.45 and Mec-Gar mags

Looking at new mags for the Pro Custom 14.45 I bought used yesterday and was looking at Mec-Gar. However they specifically state on their web site "NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PARA PRO CUSTOM P14.45 PISTOL OR AFTERMARKET POLYMER BASEPADS" does anybody know why? Is it because of the large magwell that gun has?

Link to their page for the Para mags... https://mec-gar.com/store/product_de...-anti-friction

If I buy those from CDNN their site says they are not for the extended magwell either, is that why I would also need the Dawson baseplates?

Quote from CDNN site...
"PARA USA P14 14-ROUND 45ACP EX-LN NEW GUN TAKEOUT MAGAZINE
Blued steel construction and polymer follower and baseplate. Fits Para 14 models without the extended magwell."

Yes.

Apparently Para/Remington doesn't make/sell the base pads for the 14.45 Pro Custom anymore. The Dawson ones are similar and work well. With these pads you don't have to change the springs. The .300" are close to the Pro Custom pad height.

Pro Custom on left, Dawson on right

Got it! Thanks for the help, I figured that was the reason why they would not fit.

The Mec-gars will fit but you need to sand the edges of the base pad to match the angle of the Pro Custom base pads.
