C&S sear spring

Para 16.40 Limited. Bought the C&S Tac 2 4# drop in 5 piece kit. Is there something different on the Para? Because the C&S sear spring is short and doesn't even touch the sear leg. Gun fails to function. Had to use the old spring. Did I get a bad spring or is there something else that I missed?

Para's require a Para sear spring, and even then it can be short. The C&S (Colt) sear spring is a good one. You can make it sit longer by straightening the tab some, this will cause it to ride higher, and still be held by the slot. To do this, and not break the spring it must be annealed at the bend. To do this place the spring in water with about a 1/2" of the tab end out. Heat to just red a few times and allow to cool.
