I'am making it a point to shoot 300 rds once a month . At Range 355 .
One of the guys at work and I are now putting a priority on going to the
range once a month together .

One - I got to get rid of all the White box I have so I can upgrade my
ammo stock to a better grade of ammo .

Two - I really need the practice of shooting more regularly to get back
on par . I'am not doing my pistols any justice . This is actually the number
one issue .

Maybe a some of the guys from the Chicago suburbs area can get together
one of these days .

Good deal. My son and I ran 600 down the pipe of a couple of handguns yesterday.

Fun times.

Hit the range this morning, too. No 1911's taken along, though.

Nice! I like the combination of you shooting a shorter slide with a longer slide in the same outing.

May I make a request? I'd like to see that Champion with some G10 grips on it. It doesn't look bad with the Springfield grips, but those things are smooth and suck for traction. Some G10 grips could possibly increase your accuracy due to not having to readjust your grip as often between shots. Also, they would look really good and purposeful on the gun. Just a request! It's always easier to spend someone else's money!

I'll ask you since you have such good taste . What color would you
recommend ? Truth be told I can't use that smooth excuse because
they are grippy .

I like the look of gray or olive. Even brown or tan could look good. Personally, I think the solid colors look better than the mixed/combo colors.

I have a couple sets of those Springfield grips, and although they're textured, I find my hand still slips. Not sure why they're so slick, but in my hands they are.

Shooting today 6-3-17 150 rds in 1 hour instead of 300 rds . Slowed down a little
so I could tighten up some groups . Put some new VZ grips on the TGO-1 . Still
hunting for a pair , I would love the looks of , other then the Rob Leatham grips .
These are " grippier " that is for sure . Shot 100 rds out of the Champion as well
but forgot to take pictures of the targets . So 250 total rds in one hour . Javas my
friend brought his XM203 looking AR . It looks so cool .

All shots 30 ft / 10 yards . Free hand .

Fun times and some great shooting.

You, sir, have some super Springers.

You have me considering a Champion.

Yup. It's a shame that it is so limited in it's range of work performed now.

Fathers day deal at the range 14.99 for an hour . Range 355 Bolingbrook .
SACS Champion and Railed Professional both pistols I need the most work
with . I was really really happy with Wilson ammo , used in the 9mm Champion
today . First time using it and it was very good performing ammo for the
Champion . Consistent would be the word I would use . 135gr HBFN Reman
950 FPS out of a 5 inch . Worked good from the 4.25 inch Champ .

I thought I would include a picture of me being happy :

My friend Javas shooting the Champion . He loves it . 2 to the body 1 to the head Drills .
Yes he is black its not the lighting .

First shot right off the draw . 25 ft

9mm champ 30 ft

More at 30 ft . Weird how it picked up the orange target in the next lane
through the 9mm hole .

The Dirty Railed Professional , cheap Winchester white box I'am trying to shoot out , so
I can buy better consistent performing ammo .

25 ft

30 ft head shots / 2 Chip McCormick 10 rounders and 1 Wilson ETM 8 rounder .

I am a veteran of .45 ACP but a relative "noob" to shooting 9mm. If I may ask, what, if any, issues did/do you have with WWB? Which ammo do you find the most consistent in accuracy? I ask because Walmart is selling the WWB 100 round boxes of 115gr for $18.95. I thank you and any others for any and all replies.

Btw, happy Father's Day and great shooting! (Really nice pistols too!)

Noah

Noah

Happy fathers day back at ya . I'am also sure I'am a bigger " NOOB "
at all kinds of shooting . I'am just getting into controlled combat
shooting to try to improve my shooting , style and Technic to be
a more consistent shooter .

WWB is ok practice ammo . Its just not as Consistent as other rounds .
Its not Winchester because I like and my pistol loves PDX1 124gr 9mm
+P . Its just a good consistent load and every round acts the same as the
one before it and after it . Its a cleaner burning rd with less recoil , For what
I'am trying to shoot WWB has some flyers . Meaning some rounds are hotter
or lighter then others and all rds do not act the same . So lets say you shoot
well with WWB or Federal 9mm 115gr FMJ RN which Wally sells as well and I
think is a better rd then WWB in my experience . You can shoot better with
a better Quality controlled rd . Powders can be better burning , Better
measured and the bullet itself can be better made so that each rd acts
like the last . Also Some pistols for whatever reason likes a different kind ,
make or style of ammo . I'am sure re-loaders can explain it better in detail
then I have tried too .

I know with 45ACP its an even bigger ball game because of the size of the rd
. I'd like to down size a little to 200gr from 230gr and try a couple different
brands to see how they work next .

I hope I shed some light on what you are asking about . Their is a reason
some rds are more expensive then others , its the time it takes to make
each rd , the Quality of the materials the rd is made of , as well .
