Movie and TV quotes & thread titles

Are there really that many people with so little to say that they use the forum to post quotes from TV/Movies?

To see one, once in a while, is a ho hum, so what. To have multiple active threads on movies and or TV quotes, at least to me, makes the forum more like a general chat board = worthless.

While I'm on my soap box, how about having Titles say something about the thread? Titles like "need some help" or "Oh Boy" or "Who else?" do not tell me anything about the thread. Can't this item become a sticky?

One last item. How about having a sticky on generally accepted abbreviations? Just a list of the most common with definitions would help a lot.

I agree with this part.^^^

My thoughts go the opposite way with general discussion threads. Recently a soldier in Iraq started a thread asking what people do for a living, and that thread was deleted. I see nothing wrong with the participants here trying to build a sense of community rather than just a technical discussion board. Nobody has to open a thread he doesn't want to read.

Easiest thing to do is just not read the threads that don't appeal to you.
