Series 80 MKIV Colt Gold Cup National Match

I picked this up today. It is a Series 80 Colt Gold Cup National Match.

From the early 90's. Real clean. Nice trigger.

I love the fat triggered Colts, and I thought a couple photos were in order.

Nice!

Just wondering if it has the Front Grip Frame Serations under those wrap-a-round grips?

I have two and both of mine have the serations, but looked at a friends one day and it didn't have them.

Serrations are there on front strap

I have the clone of that gun and it does have the front strap serrations. Here is a picture of mine.

Very nice GC RogerC!

I have SS Gold Cup from the mid 80's, very accurate shooter. I like that wide serrated GC trigger too.

I don't know why they leave the corners of the rear sight so damn sharp.

A guy could slice the crap out of his forearm on them.

I am going to have to change that.

Does anyone make a "drop in" replacement?

Either that or I'm taking a stone to those sharp corners...
