Hello!!

Great to be on 1911! I have been shooting 1911's for 49yrs. My father was a D-Day, Omaha Beach veteran, who received 2 battlefield promotions on his way into France. At 8yrs old he and I started Shooting together. We would plink with his (now mine) Colt Woodsman and Colt GI .45. To me the model 1911 is the finest combat pistol ever designed!

Welcome from the Old Continent, this is a great forum, you'll enjoy it.

My respects to your father.

They were, and are still, the greatest generation who made it possible for my family and I to breathe free. Greetings from the center of the known universe in beautiful, downtown Schertz, Texas GDonley! You'll enjoy your time here as there are dealers, 'smiths, aficionados, and lovers of the 1911. Ask a question and you will get great answers from some of the most knowledgeable people.
