Never let a crisis go to waste.

Well the local government thugs of Champaign Illinois. They have seen fit to prohibit the transfer of firearms and ammunition due to the national state of emergency. I got this from an NRA alert E-mail, and could not get the link to transfer to this post.

If you look I am sure that you can find it.

There's been a huge surge in guns and ammo sales in Seattle since the virus outbreak. A lot of fear of attacks and physical assault among Asian-Americans.

They are scared and want a way to defend themselves.

Wow. Everyone's worried about how their government leaders are dealing with the virus, and all these twits can think of is a gun ban. Just watch they'll want to enact temporary confiscation orders to all elderly people who might be thinking of offing themselves.

Yup... I guess we can't let Corvid 19 severely infected patients gasping for air, running around armed and spreading the virus at gun point.

Yup... makes sense.

If they try prosecuting anyone who gives a firearm to a family member who's been receiving threats I can see a lawsuit coming out of it. People all around this country are starting to realize that the Second Amendment isn't there for the sake of duck hunting, and if they are denied it in a time of emergency then they're going to start seeing our point of view a little more.

So, what's the possibility if collapsing a healthy economy with this?

A lot of businesses face failing if customers stay away.

What percentage does it take to cause an avalanche?

I expect many people and businesses can probably cope with it for a month or two. After that it starts to get iffy. I feel sorry for the low income working people as they little in reserve to weather this out.

The real problem is the poor in the inner cities, they have no backup or support mechanism for how to get food, etc. There will be wide spread rioting, looting and destruction in a week or so. They already promote a culture of violence. It will get worse.

Way to many people live beyond their means and survive
paycheck-to-paycheck with little or no liquid savings.

It has been a very long time since I was close to this.
It was not pleasant then.
Luckily I excelled in Electrical Engineering and quickly had very large raises.

People coming into our local gun stores and are totally surprised that they can't just buy whatever they want without a permit to buy from the local sheriff, filling out paperwork and going through background checks. They've heard for years about all the "loop holes" and are really upset at not being able to find them.

We might actuall be seeing a liberal learning curve here!

Imagine if the Socialists/Communists controlled, not just the House, but the Senate and POTUS also.
I was wishful that Nancy and Chuck had destroyed the Democratic party. When reality set in, I realized that I was dreaming and the new left is the new left.

I lived in Champaign Ill. for 15 years. This does not surprise me at all. Leaving Ill. was the best thing I ever did. I will now happily drive around Ill. rather than go through any part of it. The politicians are all crooks and most of the people are complete zombie Democrats.

Si vis pacem, para bellum

"Therefore, he who wishes peace, should prepare war; he who desires victory,
should carefully train his soldiers; he who wants favorable results,
should fight relying on skill, not on chance."

based on a quotation from Roman military writer Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus:
Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum.[2] The saying is one of many from
or based on his work, Epitoma rei militaris, possibly written around the year 390 AD.
It is embedded in a passage that stresses the importance of skillful preparation of
military actions (an 'Art of War', so to say) as opposed to mere reliance on coincidence or superiority of numbers:
