State parks and whatnot were of course closed when the governutter locked down the entire state, but I managed to keep my sanity by sneaking into the deep woods to do a little target shooting now and then. So I did so again this afternoon, only to be greeted with signs all along the road saying that DNR has now closed access to ALL state-managed land. No target shooting, ATV riding, hiking, mountain biking, camping, bird watching, dope dealing, body dumping... nobody allowed out in the woods anymore unless you've got fur and four legs.

This really sucks. Going out in the woods to lose myself was just about the only thing left to do in these parts. And to think this is all because they don't want people getting too CLOSE to one another! :hrm:

For some of these governors, and their counterparts in DC, it is ALL about keeping people apart (divided). IMHO.

There's little "voluntarily" about it- its mandated "orders" in most States....

That the masses (including most here) bowed down and meekly accepted such orders without question is another matter....

Dem's just throwing a hissy fit any way they can. Sore losers. They're just trying to make everyone's life hell. Remember the sequestration when the nation budget wasn't agreed on? And they shut down all the parks. Pretty sure that Ohio parks are open, at least the kind you walk into. The campgrounds might be closed. But I saw tons of people in Mohican hitting the trails.

Nothing will come of it until people are broke. Rich people usually don't revolt or rebel.

Oddly enough, the best thing to get healthy and support your immune system is to go outdoors, get sun, fresh air and exercise.

They did the same thing in Florida closing off all the public beaches. I can understand limiting the number of people and making them space themselves out... but there is nothing like fresh air, sun (synthesize vitamin D in your skin) and exercise to strengthen your resistance to some virus. Vitamin D is the best thing for the immune system. Not only that, but most viruses are destroyed by the UV component of sunlight. So the fact is, the covid 19 is very likely not going to survive outdoors when exposed to sunlight.

Going out for walks in your own neighborhood is still okay. Problem is, everyone is doing it at once since there is nowhere else they can go. You can get killed stepping off the sidewalk into the street to stay six feet away from other walkers, only to get run over by a passing car. And I've nearly gotten bitten by other peoples' dogs several times now. What the %$@#! do they expect people to do, just sit on their couch for six solid weeks and watch re-runs of Seinfeld over and over?!?

There is an I95 overpass that crosses over one of my favorite parks and lakes. It’s a huge bridge and you can walk underneath it easily.
Tossing a fresh live shiner under the bridge will result in an immediate huge peacock bass hitting it. The park is closed. Can’t park inside, can’t park outside and walk in. Can’t go in period....

.....BUT....

....all is fine for the homeless people who live in the tent city IN the park about 200yds away from the over pass.

Sheer lunacy has taken over....

This actually happened to me and my son the other day
‘So lemme get this straight officer. I can’t park here, walk there and fish with my son but they can live there, homeless and in tents in same park you’re telling me is closed?’

Apparently the residents of Michigan were able to express their displeasure with our Governor yesterday in Lansing, Michigan.

I think several people have started to see the light about some of these restrictions. Don’t give up hope yet.

Lets see how fast all the “social distancing” lasts the next time politicians and developers decide to build the next 500 unit condo complex, or mall, casinos, or an entertainment complex.
They’ll all have amnesia.
Think the airlines will give us normal males 6+ feet tall some more room on a plane?
None of those things will happen.

Even here in socialist controlled Coloradostan we are still able to go to both state and city parks. The outdoor shooting range at Cherry Creek State Park remains open although most private gun clubs are closed. Playgrounds, tennis courts, and golf courses are closed but we can still go outside and get fresh air.

WA's governutter first put us in lockdown lasting through April 8th. Then he extended it to May 4th. Now as of last night he says he isn't sure he will lift the lockdown then. If this keeps up people are really going to start getting fed up and there WILL be major protests. You can't put peoples' lives on hold indefinitely like this.

@DSK
Getting away from it all and spending time in nature is our God given right and should not be infringed upon. Like you said, open spaces and social distancing makes more sense than walking around the neighborhood. Welcome to PC "house arrests".

This is only the beginning.

OK, what happens when hundreds of thousands follow
examples stated here? Then you'll have hundreds of
thousands bumping into each other in the woods.

Might even have hundreds of thousands firing their
guns in the woods.

Or hundreds of thousands in the woods making love. :)

As FREE men we should be able to run naked thru the woods firing our guns if we so desire. Those afraid are also free to continue to hide under their beds till Uncle Sam says it’s ok come out. But govt dictating where and when and what I can do I can’t tolerate much longer. They really are lucky we are for the most part a peaceful people.

Had to run to town today; the road follows the river for the total 26 miles. The trout stocking truck was out and there were a fare number of fisher-people out and about; seems like life as usual in our part of America, except for many businesses being closed. Think I'll stop at the range on the way to the PO and rattle off a couple of magazines.

Glad we don't live where many of you do. Hang tough!

Today, the UNELECTED County Executive for St. Louis County Missouri, and the mayor of St. Louis City, both extended their lockdowns, INDEFINITELY!!

So... when is enough enough?? Our founders would have been shooting by now.

Rediculus. I think we have a total of like 14 cases in Marathon County (biggest in the state, but not most populus) and one death.

But it makes sense that we keep killing our small businesses for ... reasons.

What the heck are all the nutbags going to do when we get the rebound virus in the fall/winter? Shut it all down again till spring?

All we are doing right now is slowing the spread. Unless or until an effective treatment and/or vaccine are developed in the final analysis just as many people will become infected and nearly as many will die-only difference is that they will get a chance at a ventilator before they succumb.

The bottom line is that the PRC is guilty of mass murder so if you want to do something about it boycott all Made in China products!
