basic training issues..

Been going through the net trying to find more period video footage of police/fbi revolver training films that come up now and then.

Found some from Frederic Police Training, I guess its run by the town of Frederic for police from OTHER cities to go to as a basic police academy.

Some of their videos I found are rather um, unsettling.

They had one where they were "teaching them about the practicality of shooting through doors". SO they shot at a metal door with a handgun. bullet failed to penetrate but dented the door.

They looked at the paper target behind the door and saw that the paper had been poked by a few pieces of paint chips/rust/etc that had been knocked off the door on impact. INSTRUCTOR starts yelling like a child that "that would have shredded a suspect hiding behind the door and ended the shooting for you instantly".

If you watch all the videos on shooting, youll see a lot of scary footage. Especially in the light of them becoming COPS at the end of the training. 5' tall cops, male and female, that can barely hold a Remington 870 LEVEL when shouldered, some who COULDNT WORK THE SLIDE when it was shouldered.... one mini female coppette who couldn't even get her hand around the custom flashlight front stock on it....

What relevance does vintage training films have with todays POST training?

Lets make 2020 free of COP bashing,

pfftt bashing? wat bashing?

Is pointing out a cook in a restaurant doesn't wash his or her hands after sex in the bathroom constitute chef bashing?

But your post does show a gratuitious lack of real life logic. They cant hold there shotgun shouldered on the range. How do you expect them to perform in crisis?

Or look at all the snow flake lawyers from Stanford who needed "safe spaces" with cocoa, coloring books, crayons and play doh to "manage their stress" after Hillary lost. DO you REALLY want one of those snow flake lawyers representing you when you go on trial because the drug dog smelled the 3 pounds of bratwurst in your bag and its reaction caused you to get arrested for trafficking narcotics?

Ill make it easier so it doesn't appear to be bashing.

If someone CANT hold or operate their weapons, how can they be considered competent or capable of even doing their job?

Back in the 70s most police had to have shotguns with empty chamber, action closed, and fore arm taped to the barrel. Most stereotyped male cops built like Rambo had a hard time dealing with that.

How is a cop who cant rack the slide on a gun range, by 1, arms to short or 2, hands to small to HOLD the weapon,,, expected to load the gun, or cycle the action when "suspect refused to stop despite being shot"

What?

What does 70's training and M&P's have to do with today's POST training and today's methods and procedures?

This is an example of the COP bashing I'm referring to. Also what does your 2nd and third post have to do with current POST training.

What is this thread about, exactly?

Shooting through metal doors?
Or
criticizing old training films/opinions?
Or
is it to give value to Youtube as "go to" resource for firearms instruction?

Would you want your vascular endartectomy performed by someone who learned the procedure from watching old Youtubes?

if videos MADE BY A POLICE ACEDEMY run by a POLICE DEPARTMENT that is accredited to train POLICE RECRUITES TO OPERATE IN ANY STATE in USA in 2017 are too old and outdated .... then how the hell can they still be teaching the same thing..

Though its ****ing funny that all to many of you simply disregard the content of the post and simply yell "police bashing".. Rather sad really.

Do you really want YOUR loved ones depending upon a midget cop for safety, when that safety cop cant even work the slide on their shotgun, or manage to hold it on target?

Your guys attitudes reminds me of the "self proclaimed ********" who can quote chapter and verse from every car magazine or off road magazine currently on the newsstand this month, but cant find the ****ing hood release despite their "ability to change oil and replace engine components"

Huh??

This is your opening statement:
"Been going through the net trying to find more period video footage of police/fbi revolver training films that come up now and then."

Now you are saying it's from 2017! And your posts get disjointed and then you "segue" into completely irrelevant rants.

Sorry brother but this is "trolling"! And then you wonder why you get banned?

Yes, I have read every one of your 1911 Forum posts!

All the best in 2020,

that's the one with the door bull****... from actual current police training.

you have to look at their entire list of video postings to actually see what they have in ways of midget cops that cant work a firearm. Its all rather pathetic.

Just because I LIKE vintage training films, doesn't mean its redundant or worthless. Id like to see a single FBI or police instructor circa 2020 tell you how to load a revolver one handed

really love that short clip of an actual police shooting event, I can count 23 shots fired BY POLICE at a distance of 2 patrol cars.... and they barely managed enough hits on target to drop the suspect. There is one point at the very end of the video where it appears the female that was being beaten takes a weapon from the male suspect and SHOOTS HIM..
