Hi from Australia

Finally got around to joining you guys. I am just here to discuss 9mm vs 45ACP. I'm kidding. Actually I'm looking to get a 1911 and also maybe an enfield no.4 rifle converted to 45ACP and wanted to soak up knowledge on the cartridge.

Welcome to our 1911 forum.
I'm sure here you'll find a lot of knowledgeable people.

Anything with a FLGR is fluff, if JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
If you're going to collect, be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, make sure it is a very good example and buy the gun not the story.

I forgot I was a member here sorry folks

We lost semi-auto rifles and pump shotguns to the laws. Technically they can still be owned but fall under strict licencing limited to special purposes, aka agricultural culling.

Every other action type no problem to own, however we cannot hunt with handguns. The upside to our laws is unrestricted hunting as we have more game than people. In my state just wild pigs outnumber humans about 2-1 and for wild goats, wild cattle, wild horses, camels, hogs, dogs, 3 deer species its kill on sight 24/7, no bag limits, no seasons, any gun type- from car, foot, boat, chopper, spotlight at night or day. They are all non native plagues.

The big downside is all legal guns are licenced and on police register. Dont let that happen over your way fellas.

Welcome aboard from NE FL. It’ll be interesting to hear the last East gun news from “down under”.

How do you differentiate wild goats, cattle and horses from domesticated varieties? Just curious. I bet a wild camel would be quite a trophy! Welcome from the States. Someday I would love to visit Australia.
