Modified Gold Combat Stainless Series I

Avoid the temptation to replace everything on your brand-new 1911 just to make it "better". Know what you're changing out and why. You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot at least 500 rounds through it first, then decide what you don't like and want to improve. Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1970 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value.

Man, I'm lovin this thread. I'm a new Kimber fan and just got a TC II in not too long ago. I-CAN'T-WAIT-TO-POST-A-PIC-OF-IT!!! I haven't gotten a chance to yet, but as soon as I get out to the range I'll get a nice shot or two of it on here. I'm really proud of it. Feels solid as a tank.

But, wow, there are some beautiful pieces on here. I hope they all function as nice as they look.

I'll be back soon....with pics and a range report.

Harley, I'm even still using your pic of the CDP! I've been carrying that gun for almost 2 months now and really love it! When I can I'll get clear Alumagrips with dragons on them, and then take my own pic!
