Won a Taurus on Gunbroker

Been wanting a 1911 since I got to test fire a Ruger 1911.
Last night, while perusing Gunbroker, I saw a Taurus PT1911. It was listed at $450, but had the "take a shot" option. I offered $350, thinking he thought I might be lowballing.
This morning I checked my e-mail and found out they accepted my offer.
I had a couple of rebate cards from the fall. One from S&W during their promotion of the 380EZ and the other from Federal for their Black Friday ammo promotion.
When all is said and done I paid $266 in it. Now I need to find some good quality, low priced mags.
I read some good reviews on this gun and I hope it lives uo to the hype.

My guess is you will like it. Esp if it is first 1911. Is it a high end 1911. No - but thru are basic 1911s with a few nice features. From what o have seen, they shoot fairLy well.
Report back and let us lnow how its doing.

No such thing exists. Expect to pay $20 minimum for decent mags. Believe me, you won't regret it.

Welcome to the 1911 World & good shooting.

Gun arrived yesterday and went to do the paperwork today. Kind of aggravated that the receiving FFL isn't counting the travel time as part of the 72 hour "holding time", even though he already did a background check and the approval came back immediately.
On the plus side, the gun links good, functioned properly (from what little I "played" with it), very little wear, and good rifling.
I'll get to pick it up Thursday evening.
