Hi all

Wife and I picked up our first handgun a couple days ago. I found this forum online and thought I would join and say hello.

We bought a Dan Wesson Bruin 6" 1911 in 10mm.

I'm trying to chat with folks - find out a little more about it. Get more involved in learning how to operate the thing, take it apart, etc.

Been watching lots of youtube videos all day. Haven't tried to take it apart yet, but I may do that tomorrow. It seems put together pretty good - I'll give it that.

I like the glow in the dark sight on the front of it.

Looking forward to hanging out with everyone here, and browsing through some of the combined knowledge on the forum. I've already stopped by the Dan Wesson sub-forum to say hello and join the DW owners community.

Hi from North Dakota
Formerly "flinch" on the forum, but that's a story in itself

Hello from Buford, Georgia!

Just a note of caution: when you put your gun back together the first time, beware of "the idiot scratch." I hate that name probably because I have done it once or twice. Search on here with the word 'idiot' to find out what it is and how to avoid it.

Unless of course you luck out and are able to fix said "idiot scratch". I'm a lucky idiot. Took about 5 minutes to fix.

Welcome to our 1911 forum from Italy.
Anything with a FLGR is fluff, if JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
If you're going to collect, be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, make sure it is a very good example and buy the gun not the story.
