EDC x9/CZ questions and more questions plus an order

Anyone own a x9 and a CZ75? Will the x9 mags fit in the mag carrier?

Now the serious stuff

For a gun that has been on the market for almost two years and all the trigger length questions, how in world can no one give a straight answer on the lengths?

How long is the medium trigger? Is it 1/8” longer than the short and 1/8” shorter than the long? Good god it’s been a repeated question since the gun came out. I need this question answered before I get kitted.

With that out of the way here’s what I’ve got going with George.

No Rail
Black Armor Tuff Frame and Slide
Black Cherry Grips
Large Back Strap
Medium Trigger
Single side safety
Orange Outline Tritium front sight

A few extra mags and some springs.
Wes is working on getting the mold to make me a holster.

I can answer the magazine question. I do not own either guns but a friend of mine has the X9 and I used to have a CZ75 by method of deduction, the X9 mag will not fit in the CZ pouch, if it's a properly fitted pouch. If it's a loose nylon, $10 gun show special pouch, yes it will fit.

How do I know? I had a CZ75 once, its magazine would fit my Beretta 92 leather pouch by Milt Sparks, perfectly. I still have the pouch but the CZ is gone. Fast forward to a month ago, my buddy bought an X9 and he wanted to know if I have any pouches that will fit his mags. I let him try the CZ/Beretta pouch and the X9 mag would not go in.

Let me check, I use CZ pattern guns for competition so I have many mag holders for them.

They are too wide, CZ75 mags are thinner and TS mags are quite thicker

Not sure about the leather holsters, but I have a Kydex I bought through Wilson Combat for my Beretta 92G Brigadier Tactical magazines, and the X9 magazines work in it perfectly.

I knew the 92 and PPQ carriers work, I was just hoping my CZ carriers could do double duty.

How about those trigger lengths?

Almost two years!

The Kydex stuff is all pretty form fitted to the gun and magazine. I can't find any of my other magazines that fit the mag carrier so I would say they might be dedicated to the X9 only. I got mine at ColoradoHolster.com

I think they do the double mag carriers for those too.

Sounds like they have totally caught up from the EDC X9 order backlog that lasted almost two years. Very good news.

My EDC X9 has a medium trigger and small backstrap and it's grip circumference (gc) is 6.5 inches. Perhaps if other X9 owners having different combinations of trigger and backstraps would measure and report their gc's it might help prospective X9 buyers decide what combinations might work best for them, especially if they can use a gun they already own as comparison.

I measure grip circumference with a string or cloth tape leading from the trigger, around the grip, beneath the beavertail and back to the starting point on the trigger.

This measurement won't help how the gun fits the entire hand but should help you decide the trigger issue. For example: my finger on the trigger of my Colt 1911a1 is perfect but feels a bit short on my X9. The string measurement above on my Colt is 6.25". Had I the opportunity to measure the X9 before purchase I would have selected the short trigger.

That was quick and it looks very nice. Many prefer the large backstrap but for me the small feels much better.

I’ve got about 500 rounds through it now. A couple issues.

The right side grip panel sticks out a little and really digs into my hand.

The trigger guard feels like a razor blade on my middle knuckle.

I’m getting used to the backstrap, but I still want to try the smaller one.

Nothing that’s not fixable. On a $2800 gun though I’m not going to fix them. 🙂

I donít have mine yet but wondering if where the grip sticks out might be the grip isnít seated correctly? Did you try removing it and reseating? Iím sure others that own one can chime in.

Bummer on the trigger guard rubbing. I have a sweet CZ Compact Custom that rubs like that. Keeps me from fully enjoying it. The smaller back strap may also change your grip and move your middle finger just enough to alleviate the rubbing. Let us know if you try

Call Wilson and talk to them about the gap issue on the right panel. That should not be there. My grips fit tight and flush. I did have a problem with the inner channel on the original grips not accepting the larger back strap, but a quick call to Wilson and they shipped me some new grips to try and sure enough they worked just fine. I just sent them the old ones back. Their customer service was fantastic. I'm sure they will get you satisfied you just need to call them.

Called today to see if I could get a new set of grips to try out, no problem then I mentioned the trigger guard and Kent said heíd send me a shipping label so they could round the edges and refinish. Pretty painless process.

No luck finding a small back strap to try yet.
