Who Owns A Tactical Defense Pistol?

I have been looking for a Hillsdale Comanche, and located one on Gunbroker. Although dealing w/ the gun store and its socially deficient staff was an ordeal, I now have the pistol. And after contacting Brenda at Baer, I was pleased to find out that I now own a rare bird.

This Comanche-sized 1911 is called a Tactical Defense Pistol, and is 1 of 100 made for a distributor, American Tactical Systems; mine was manufactured in January of 1998. The gun started out as a Concept Vll w/ enhancements: serrated rear slide, single-side safety, night sights, dehorning, and their black DuPont finish. It was never in the catalog.

Mine appears to be all original, and the finish has held-up nicely for a 22-year old gun that looks to have been carried a lot.

How can you tell if you have one of these? Look for the serial number that begins w/ "LBT" and a sequential of 1 to 100. So far, I have found one person on 1911Fanatics who owns one; here on 1911Forum, Tokarev does/did own one.

I have cleaned it, and the gun goes to the range Thursday.

Yes, I see it on Virgina Guntrader. He won't get out of it what he wants, as it is foolish to spend money fixing something that is not broken. I prefer my stock pistol, as I spent much less than that and it works just as well.

I got my SRP from him. We made a good deal on it.
I learned the hard way that you never get out what you have in. I took 2 large baths on my 2 SA pistols customized by SACS.

Do you know the history of the SRP? I found it online recently and it was an interesting read. I would not mind having one.
