Citadel 1911 45acp compact

Does anybody have a Citadel 1911 45 acp compact? If so how do you like it does it feed, fire and eject ok?

LGS store has them on sale for $419 thinking about picking up one they look like they are well made and come with 3 mags.

Appreciate any feedback.

I’ve had one for years. Never have had a problem. I carry it often. Make sure you have a good belt as it is heavy

How many rounds have you guys shot through your gun? Do you normally shoot 230gr fmj or have you shot hollow points through them too if so how did the hollow points do?

I broke mine in with about 200 round of FMJ. I shoot hollow points through it now. It has never jammed. I changed springs once at about 1000 rounds. Never have had a issue. I’m Leary of compact round count on compacts but my spring hasn’t weakened to the point of causing issues yet. I’m up to about 1500 rounds on the gun and it seems bulletproof so far.

Sounds encouraging I think I will pick up one at the LGS while they are still on sale. I looked at one the other day and they look to be well made. Fit was good noticed that it had an extended ejector so should kick empty brass out ok. Comes with 3 mags so that is good.

How is the trigger on yours. The one in the store felt like around 5 lbs mimimal creep. It can always be slicked up a little easily.

Trigger is good. I installed night sights and new grips. Thing has been bulletproof.

What grips did you go with. I was thinking of getting a set of Hogue wraparound with finger grooves if I get the gun.

Nice looking. Looks like they would give you a good grip on the gun.
