Picked up my new Custom Carry...

As I noted in an earlier thread, I bought a Custom Carry as my 1st 1911. I didn't think I would be able to pick it up until Saturday, however, I was able to get it today. I had a chance to put 100 rounds through it (Sellier and Bellot 230 FMJ). I used a Cobra 7 round mag and it ran without a hiccup. Also, a quick shout-out to John at 1911 Heaven. He has an awesome inventory of Baers, and was great to deal with.

Here are a couple of pics:

Those grips aftermarket? If not, when'd Baer go double diamond?

Yes, they are from Wood Caliber (www.woodcaliber.com). These particular grips are Macassar Ebony. I'm very pleased with the quality of them.

Nice looking CC. I've had mine for 15 yrs - just feels right in my hand. I too just picked up my 2nd Baer yesterday (no pictures yet). A PII with no front serrations and the 1.5" guarantee from a Crazy John. He's a very knowledgeable guy with some good anecdotes, pricing and fast shipping.

Great looking pistol. That has a real classic Government model look without the front serations

Very Nice! I have located a dealer whose vision isn't so sharp when it comes to appearance items like FCS. I may actually be able to get a Custom Carry without FCS here in Commiefornia.

I picked up the same exact model, no ambi no fcs, from CJ back in November. It is by far my favorite 1911 ever, nice choice OP.

Let's see some more pictures, this Baer looks fantastic. I noticed CJ has them on sale, I'm very tempted to pick one up within the near future.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale. Wish me luck, I'm going to give it a shot with the new FFL. He said they would process a pistol without FCS for me. And at only $ 50 to register the pistol, it's worth it. BTW 50 bucks is cheap in CA. to get a pistol transferred.
