Are you a member of the NRA?

Yes or No.

Nothing else unless you want to elaborate.

Yes.

I have been a Life member for about 20 years, and recently upgraded to Endowment Life. Even with the recent problems, the NRA is still the foremost defender of our freedoms.

I became a life member in 1966; I can't recall when I upgraded to Benefactor Life - sometime in the 1980s, I think...

I was until I had my heart attack in ‘12. Used to belong to every group I could but fell on tough times after that. I want to join again but wish they would save money and not send me all the additional mail for more money. Maybe that’s wrong but nothing feels worse than tossing all that mail away. I don’t even get to shoot much anymore do to expense.

Feel free to straighten out my thinking please.

Endowment Life Member a couple years now. Started as annual member many years ago, then Life Member about 10 years ago, then moved up. I believe in the mission of the NRA completely, though some of the leadership personalities and shenanigans irritate me at times. I especially believe in their older missions of teaching gun safety to youth and others. I donít think they spend enough time educating the general public on their involvement in those type programs. As others already mentioned, one of very few organizations that actually make legal headway in defending 2A rights.

And again, as someone else mentioned, the amount they must spend on nationwide advertisements and donation solicitations is absurd, especially in this digital age.

my NRA 'travails'

Yes at endowment level. Also Sr. Training counselor. But . . . setting up and establishing a new gun range (and non-profit at that) which is open to the public, do you think we could get any startup help from friends of the NRA? Zero dollars to date for the time spent putting together two grant requests. Yet, another range in the area (private and for-profit w/$50k+ in their treasury) received an $11k grant to upgrade two berms. And another range in the area (private / for-profit w/$100k+ in their treasury) received a $21k NRA grant for club house 'improvements'.

Life member for a long time.

If you want to belong to a range or gun club nowadays, you have to.

And everyone here should be a member.

Am curious about members here that belong to other pro gun groups such as GOA? Any others?

Life member NRA here since the day Clinton became POTUS. Before that it was off again, in again for years. Clinton and his filthy ilk convinced me to go full bore.

Also a member of GOA although in my opinion, they are marginal in comparison. But maintain my membership regardless. Have been a member of SAF and JPFO as well though lapsed right now.

Solid choice brother.

I haven't met a perfect man, woman or organization yet. But it pays to support the home team. Hopefully the NRA Board will man up and polish the brass.

Life since 1971.

Endowment since 90's.

Too bad all my firearms were lost in that terrible boating accident. Who knew that stuff would sink so fast! I marked the spot on the GPS/Sonar but it went down with the boat too! Geeze...

Smiles,

Life since 1978, Benefactor now. Despite it's faults, it's still the best gun rights organization. Others are good also, but don't have the clout that the NRA does.

NRA, GOA, only recently. I don't plan on stopping (unless hard times come knockin' again, there's always that)

I'll support the others as things improve. I'm coming off a 3-year stretch of hard times. The older one is, the longer those last.

When I buy gun stuff online? I add a buck for the NRA. They better get off their duff, tighten their belts, and use more of that $ to fight the neo Bolsheviks lurking about instead of spending it on themselves.

But I don't mind ponying up a buck here or there. (literally, 1 dollar or a round-up) I'd rather give it to them and the GOA, than to any politician. I think of it as my gun-tax or my gun-dues. No matter what happens, money still talks.
