Does Kimber have a custom shop?

I'm guessing this question gets asked a lot but ... does Kimber have a custom shop like Springfield used to have (or still has depending)? If so has everyone been pretty happy with their work?

If by custom shop you mean a machine to roll mark the words custom shop on a slide, then yes. If you mean a master gunsmith that can turn a run of the mill standard model into a work of art... Then no.

Jason nailed it. They have a rollmark press that adds Custom Shop, but no such shop exists.

What I meant was, do they have a shop that I can send my Kimber in to have work done on it such as front strap checkering, etc... So do they do custom work on their customers Kimbers for their customers.

You can have certain work done to your gun, like checkering the front strap, changing sights, etc, but they won't build a full custom gun from scratch.

I have owned several dozen Kimbers and while I agree that most custom shop guns are mostly aesthetic, My Gold Combat and more noticeably, my Super Match are well made, great fit and finish and smooth as glass. Much more so than say a CDP Custom.

That is exactly what I am looking to have done. Thanks. I'll try calling them to find out what it takes. Much appreciated.
