New guns/Shot Show 2018

Anyone else sad about the lack of news surrounding new guns/rumors of new guns? This is the time of year that I really look forward to and yet there has been very little news.

The biggest thing to make me happy is that Springfield Armory has the two TRP models in 10mm and Speer is finally making a 200gr 10mm load. So, I'm happy that 10mm is making a huge comeback.

Another rumor is Springfield will introduce a 10mm XD.

Does it seem like to anyone else that the slow down in the industry is stifling any new products or new R&D?

What's everyone's thoughts?

He hasn't come back to double down on his comment, nor can I tell if he was just messing with us or not. But one of the distributors for Springfield casually dropped a 9mm TRP comment on another forum. It also seems like it's becoming a tradition for STI to drop some Shot Show models.

Someone from Springfield Armory posted on a Facebook post of theirs saying that a 10mm XD was coming. Maybe 2018 is the year of the 10mm.

Rumor has it that this year there will be some new, black plastic stuff!!!! Also, some FDE and the occasional, brightly colored plastic stuff too!!! New AR stuff - of the black and FDE plastic variety - as well as some new colors like rainbow-pink-blossom and sea-turtle emerald for the plastic pocket pistols. Oh, and did I mention black, plastic AR stuff?????

I can tell you what we won't see at this year's shot show..... on the other hand, I don't have the time, nor inclination right now to compile that list.

Thank Heaven for the secondary market!!!

New guns/Shot Show 2018

Im hoping for an M&P 2.0 in 357 Sig but......

I think its going to be all 9mm and big bore...seems to be a bit of a push with 10mm, thankfully the pocket pistol fad is over

The way manufactures are watering down 40 we may as well go to 10

The streamlight TLR-7 leaked also 500lumens on 1 cr123

I'm just hoping that some company with exactly zero 1911 history will introduce a new pistol, with beavertail, 3-dot Novak sights, "lowered ejection port", and maybe something radical, like . . . forward cocking serrations!
That would be insane!

You forgot to turn off the sarcasm at the end of your post. There, fixed it for you.

I'm waiting for about a dozen new AR models and 3 or 4 new cartridges like this one.

They already have one with an 8 round mag, the P239. I guess people want strikers now. I never claimed to be a stable marketing genius.

Sig discontinued the P239, mags parts kits are already drying up from the hoarding and Sig C.S. has admitted that they are not considering bringing any more parts out to support their customer. Cohen's doing such a great job burning the bridge to loyal customers.

NAA's top break looks interesting, but like all their revolvers, it is a novelty. I wish NAA would build a bigger revolver, that I could shoot without the fear of breaking (I saw one go out of time, after less than 20 rounds.) Maybe I got a lemon, but I am still reluctant to trust my life to one in a self sefense situation.

The Sig P365 is a double stack, not a single stack.

I didn't know that. Might be time to buy a few more mags and a spring kit.

Actually that doesn't bother me. The classic P229 just went missing and I just bought a new one of those also. Fantastic pistol.

Between the new Ruger PC9 and the Sig 365, I think my tax money is spent. Would love a new CZ something or other too.

10mm does not interest me personally, but I guess I see the appeal. I'm consolidating calibers in my safe and my life, so 22, 9, 45, and stupid 38 will have to do.

If you want to look at some cool stuff, check out Ruger. They are doing a take down 10/22 in 9mm that takes Glock mags and converts to any polymer magwell. I would bet dollars to donuts they do a Charger version (cheap SBR!) and an integral suppressed version.

That's cool/new/different enough that I may jump. I have no reason to buy another AR in any variety, I hardly enjoy the ones I have any more.

Look for the Springfield booth under a huge banner claiming they are sorry and asking for forgiveness. The crying CEO YouTube video will be playing on a loop.

That's all I shoot anymore. Anything else just doesn't add enough for me to consider it.

I actually had a hard time buying a 9 MM last year.
