One aspect of a public forum such as this, is that you can communicate with a man you will probably never meet in person, yet learn so much from him, and even feel like he is your good friend.

That's the way I feel about Army Chief.

When I'm faced with a tough fight, I hope I have even a fraction of his courage and fortitude.

Damn it, I was never expecting to ever hear this. I'm disappointed that I don't really know of a sincere way of conveying comfort & encouraging strength via a forum post; especially towards a man who always successfully conveyed his thoughts to complete strangers.

Obviously we've never met AC, but I know I'm not alone with the many other forum members here at The 1911 Forum that have benefited greatly from your involvement. I know if you've had that big of an impression on total strangers like me, then I can only surmise that your impact with family and friends must be very special.

Thoughts & prayers, comfort & strength go out your family and loved ones. Thank you for your Service, professionalism and companionship my friend.

Ricky T, Thank you sir for posting this.
Army Chief, my utmost respect and prayers for you and your family. You are a tremendous asset to us and I thank you. Your courage, eloquence and strength are inspirational. From the brief glimpse of what we have seen of your life and character here I can only imagine what an honor it would have been to be called family or a friend. Fight the good fight and find peace brother.

This news brings such sadness to the forum.
After VietNam and then my daughter dying I don't pray anymore, but my wife does. She has added you to her's prayers. Your post shows you are hanging in as a tough soldier does in hard times. This forum has been fortunate to have know and learned from you. I wish only the best for you, and your family.

I am truly saddened to hear this, and my thoughts and hopes for peace go out to Army Chief and his family.

AC, thank you for sharing so much of your time, knowledge, and self with us here, and on the other forums you are a part of. There are very few that I respect the opinion of as much as I do yours.

Stay strong friend.

I've often wondered how some conduct themselves with such poise when faced with such a battle. God has blessed you with this trait, one which comforts those around you....God's speed sir

Chief,

I just learned of your battle. Please know I and my entire church are praying for you. I know beyond a doubt that our God still does miracles. He still heals. But, if he chooses not to on this side in his great love and mercy he takes us gently in his arms and leads us into his glorious presence. I am truly praying for you, I pray right now your breathing will become easier and any pain recedes in the Name of Jesus Christ!

P.S. I am going to PM you and leave my phone numbers in case you or your family would like to talk with me, if any of you wish for me to pray with you on the phone. Please call anytime day or night.

God bless Chief,

PastorDW

Guys,

I just learned of Chief's situation today. I sent him a PM, but suspect he is in no shape to be on a computer. I sent him two contact numbers in case he or his family would like to speak with me. If any of you are in touch with him or his family please PM me and I will give you my numbers to pass on to them. My heart is very saddened to get this news today. I have never spoken with the Chief, but all of us have a special bond as Forum Brothers. If I can do anything at all please PM me.

Sincerely,

PastorDW
