I prefer Magpul non window gen 2 or 3's. Have a big box full of them in 20 and 30 rounders. I also have about a dozen or so of Brownell's metal G.I. mags which are also very nice with magpul followers. Order 1 or 2 each, of the top recommended and decide which ones you like best.

Knowing what you now know, what mags would you buy. How many and what brand? Steel, aluminum or composit?
I am on a tight budget so quality is of utmost importance and best price is secondary. I have a lot of ammo and only one other .223/5.56, a MSAR STG 223. With 8 factory mags.
This is a SHTF rifle for my wife. A fun gun for her also.
Thanks in advance
Magpul P Mags cheap and reliable as all heck

I have MagPul Gen 2 / 3 as well as OKAY Surefeed mags. I've been happy with both.

I would get magpuls if I only had AR15s, I prefer MFT mags since I also have SCARs and other guns that dislike p-mags. P mags will have the mag catch ride 1.2mm above dead flat in a SCAR-L so it produces a abnormal wear mark on the BCG.

I recently got rid of all my Pmags and went to D&H usgi mags with the magpul follower.

PSA usually has a deal on them free shipping on 10 or more $7 each.

The issue I had with pmags was when I slammed the mag in on a open bolt the top two rounds would pop out.
