Small pistol primers

I just placed a order for 20K small pistol primers. Or so I thought, then I read the invoice. I was so excited someone had them, I failed to notice they are small pistol MAGNUM. Oh well..........

They will still work fine. A lot of competitive shooters use small rifle primers, so they can cut down on the number of different primers laying around.

Yes, but rifle primers in pistol ammo is usually used for excess pressure loads when they are trying to make Major with 9mm and 38 Super. There are potential risks using small rifle primers with low pressure pistol ammo, as discussed in post #17 in the link below. The risk is breech face erosion because of the possible failure of low pressure to swell the thicker small rifle cup to the brass, which allows gas to escape around the primer and cut the breech face.
