Iím just gonna assume that the 870 is not the Express. Or at least you have changed out the plastic internals. They may snap in the heat of the moment with that OO! : Iím guessing the police version.........

I'm going to get a lot of hate in this forum for my "house gun." I have my old duty weapon, the Glock 35. Ole reliable.

.300 black "pistol" and an LWRC SPR are my house guns. No point using handguns when better options are easily on hand

This pair of Smith & Wesson Model 10s.

This Winchester Model 1907 .351

This M1 Carbine in .30 Carbine.

Realistically, this Benjamin Model 347 .177 sees the most actual use around the house.

Well, house gun whenever I am awake watching TV is whatever is my EDC for that day on the nearby table. My night table CZ Phantom 18+1 with a laser. Also in the closet is a tactical Mossberg 12 gauge.

My regular home gun is a .45/.410 revolver loaded with .410 shells. But with all this virus stuff happening, I broke out my AR15 pistol, just in case.

My Gen2 Glock 17 has been my primary home defense gun for many years.

Nitro .45----------- Yes, it's a Police 870 with a 18" barrel and a long mag tube. Five extra shells on board in one of those stretchy holders too.

I say take whatever advantage you can as a in-place defender. That means Long Arms.

Should looters show up with handguns you will have superior capabilities.

Should the crap really start to happen in the 'hood I'll drag out the FN Fal too. Not gonna *****-foot around with handguns. They are backup only.

Nightstand Special is P226.
Others here there and yonder.

First time I hear of a home invasion for toilet paper, the long guns will get placed more conveniently.

Whatever I have been carrying. 99.9% of the time it would be a M&P 2.0 40 compact. Of course there is always a 12 gauge Mossberg it just takes a little longer to get to.

I really don't like keeping too many guns unsecured in my house. No more than two handguns and one long gun at a time. Everything else is locked up in the safe. Normally, I only keep out whatever gun is my EDC at the moment (in this case a HK P2000sk) and my Mav 88. Works for me.

I keep my Dan Wesson VBob on me except when asleep or in the bathroom/shower. Other than that, I have a Mossberg 590 with 00 and an AR9 pistol with 2 33rnd Glock mags available "somewhere" in my place. Where? That's for me to know.

For years my wife and I kept two .38 snubs in our night stands, ready to point and squirt. She still does. I've changed to my RIA .45 Compact with two extra mags. Set up for a quick grab in the closest is my .38 plus my M1 Carbine. When venturing down to the condo parking lot at night, I tuck my Kimber Ultra Carry ll (.45) in my waistband. That's my at home set up.

I am serious about home defense. Hornady makes Critical Defense ammo for the M1 Carbine, and it works well.
