I'm currently at NAS Pensacola for work and while enjoying some liberty was out checking out the local gun shops. Came across this Pro Light Rail in a shop close to base.

Very impressive pistol however, I wasn't a fan of the finish the Black T felt very rough to the touch. A dozen draws from a holster would smooth it out no doubt.

The asking price seemed high to me, I'm not in the market for a Pro Light Rail so don't know if that's in the ball park or not.

that's a good bit higher than can be had through a dealer.

Picked the gun up last Wednesday and ran a couple of boxes through it to confirm the condition of the gun. I'm fortunate in that the previous owner was very meticulous about care and records, so everything seems to be in order. I plan on getting it to the range again this week before snapping some pictures to share, but my first impressions are all very positive. What a fantastic firearm.

Picked this up last month. I have 500rds of 230gr ball and 100rds of 230gr of various hollow points (hydra shok and HST) with zero issues. I really like this gun other than the trigger. For the price I think the trigger could/should be a bit more "crisp". The date completed and test fired for this one is 11-01-17. I do like the finish and my favorite is the 20lpi front strap. Just added a set of VZ diamond backs to it to compliment the checkering.

Here it is, after 150 rounds of flawless shooting and a good thorough "get to know you" cleaning. Here are some of my initial impressions:
- The front strap checkering is no joke. I've got a Valor I shoot pretty often with 25lpi and didn't think the jump to 20lpi would be all that noticeable. Wrong. I don't know if I've just worn the Valor's down a bit and the Pro's is still pretty new, but it is definitely noticeable. It really locks in to your hand.
- The grip safety has a very short travel. I rather like this about the gun. I do most of my shooting with polymer guns which usually lack grip safeties, so finding one that isn't very picky is a definite plus.
- The gun is supremely accurate. The trigger is a little heavier than I'm used to for the 1911 platform, but that's no real hurdle. It is a duty gun after all. The break is incredibly crisp. Just a clean *snap* and the round breaks. Love it.
- I don't mind the sights, per se, but I don't have anything else with 3-dot sights, so that takes a little getting used to. I'd change them out, but I don't think I'm going to own this gun forever, so I'm going to keep it as stock as I found it.
- The only thing that I don't really like about the gun is that the finish on the barrel appears to be wearing pretty fast. The previous owner had logged 500 rounds through the gun and I put 150 through it since buying it. That's not a very high round count and I definitely believe the guy about his usage, so the barrel hood showing as much wear as it is surprises me. Any thoughts about that?

Overall, I'm very impressed. The slide to frame fit is like oil on glass smooth and the trigger break is impeccable. I feel very lucky to finally land one of these.

hfrog355, I have about 1100 rounds through my Pro, the barrel finish wear seems a little bit more than mine, but nothing out of the ordinary. From what I have read, the Black-T finish still protects the metal even when it's worn down. Other than that nice Pro.

PC9111 Operator question.

Has anyone ever seen an Operator that was shipped from SA Custom Shop with ramped barrel?

I canít recall if it was this website or another, but thereís a ramped Pro floating around that was originally ordered by some government organization other than the FBI. US Marshals maybe? Either way, itís out there.

I have one..... I was told by someone here that what I have a is a Warren Tactical , someone else told me that maybe the ramped barrel was put in later , etc.

But the fact is that I do have a 2012 production CRG PRO OPERATOR that was built and shipped from SACS with NM. SA. ramped barrel (numbered to the gun).

I would like to know if ANYONE else here has one . Or if anyone ever seen one.

If it has a CRG STARTING serial number its a Pro . Yes their are ramped barreled Pro's .
If it was a Warren the serial number would start with WTS , The slide would have unique
top of slide serrations, and be stamped Warren .

So what you have is , a little bit rarer ramped barrel Pro . Good for you ..

That's Pretty cool, I hope yours shoots just as good as mine.

I put another 200 through mine last Friday and am up to 500 rounds through it without any issues.

Christmas and new years were very good to me this year . I finally found a Gunsmith
that can handle my needs . Mr Smith is very detail oriented . Mr Smith asked to remain
anonymous because this is a side job for him and he picks and chooses who he works
for and what he works on . So thank you Mr Smith for all your work . 3.5 lb trigger /
single sided safety / tune up work . I put some new VZ grips on it . They were too
bright for me so I sanded the grips , mixed some gun metal and black paint then washed
the grips with a wet brush . then dried them . I think they came out good , hope you think so .
Chime in and let me know .
