There is a specific "dance" between the mechanical parts and springs during the cycling. Steel ammo behaves differently than "brass". Changing springs may solve the problem with the steel cases but might create a problem with "brass".

You will see a slight dwell at the beginning and in full recoil. This is dependant on brass cases. Steel doesn't expand like brass!
