The issues in 9mm 1911’s I have experienced with steel or aluminum cases was magazine related. Typically top round of a full magazine...certain mags only, not always brand specific. The feed lips cut into the cases during feeding, slowing the slide thus cutting momentum.

Disassemble the magazines. Debur inside lower corner along the length of the feed lips. Then polish them. While you are in there, polish the sides of the followers and debur the inside of the mag body at the witness holes.
The modern production 1911 - high visibility sights, beavertail grip safety, aluminum trigger, good trigger pull, enhanced slide/ frame fit, accurized barrel/bushing fit. If itís not a Kimber, itís a copy.
