I still kind of push out from where my support hand comes on. Know exactly what the OP describes though. More of an immediate extension out to the target from the draw. Going to say it works well...

I use separators to sift mixed brass and sometimes still end up with 40 jammed down deep in a 45 case locking up station 1. :(
