yes, a 12 gauge shotgun is always number one on the list for home defense guns. But many people find them somewhat unwieldy though.

I feel that way with my cheaper red dot sights. But these newer ones typically have a 2,000 hour or longer battery life. Some of them turn on when you move the gun and turn off when it doesn't move...
