Springfield has one of the best warranties even on a second hand gun. I have sent them a couple of guns that I was second even third owner of for basic warranty work and didn't pay a dime for it....

If you have a small flash light you can shine in the barrel from the chamber side to look down it from the front to check it out, slide to frame fit side to side and front to back. Check mag fitment....

You would have to change the slide and get everything that goes in it (firing pin, extractor), barrel and ejector. The hardest part would be matching the barrel to the frame ramp angle for feeding....

No the frame has to be cut for the ramp. They do make standard 9mm/38 barrels. I turned a Rock Tac FS Ultra from a 45 to a 9mm.

Enjoy that RI. I have one in 45 that I bought before I got my full rail TRP. After I picked up the TRP I turned the RI 45 into a 9mm.
