Yes, it is common for them to be on the short end of SAAMI. Is this dangerous? Depends on how short it is and how it correlates to the hood to breech face gap with in total makes up the head space....

From what I can tell, they are all made of carbon. I thought at first that the GS and MSH were SS but after checking them with a different type of cold blue I found that they appear to be carbon.
