I do a lot of my shooting on a 14" gong at 70 yards. Frequently a 9mm that is correctly zeroed at 25 yards will stay on the gong at 70. Virtually all will if they are zeroed an inch high at 25 yards....

I do not like the dot so large that it covers my target. That's seldom a problem with any sort of action shooting discipline.
Even a large dot will be subtend less arc than a 0.125" front sight.
