It really depends on what part(s) of the weapon you're referring to and what environment you're operating in as well as how often you will be able to perform operator maintenance.

Ontario RAT 2 folder. Been carrying it every day for about 6 mos...excellent so far. Smooth open / close, sharp, thin profile and the blade is the right size for my daily needs.

What would be the need for scraping inside the carrier? If you just want it looking clean, the end of a sectioned GI cleaning rod can do the job.

What parts do you want to scrape? For the bolt tail I just use the threaded end of the bore brush. Works great for me.
