I feel your pain Devlin. I did the same thing when I first got my Mil-spec. I called SA and they recommended using 600 to 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper and using a light oil. Like an earlier poster...

What am I looking at?

I went to my LGS yesterday and in there case was a new 1911 government model. It had a long trigger, blued, and it was an 80 series. It wasn't stamped on the side anywhere but it had extra parts...

I just picked up a new Springfield 911 in 9mm. I'm having a problem with the slide release. I realize it's new but the release is extremely hard to get the slide to return. I didn't see this problem...
