I haven’t shot at all of the local ranges but two of them I’ve been to don’t permit any steel ammo at all. The aluminum cased ball ammo works fine in my 1911’s though.

My Magnum Research has a light (3 lbs?), crisp trigger; the Smith is not as light but close (4 lbs?) and the trigger is only slightly less crisp.
