Thats crazy. Buy used. They are not rare. The bigger shows (1000+ table) around here always have a few used ones around the 5 bill mark. I purchased mine new Fall of 2010 for $475.00.

I don't believe the Mil-Spec is a higher quality piece than the GI. It has more upgraded features, but not put together with any better or with higher quality parts. Its not like SA's $1500 or less...
