I rented a Springfield RO (anything but) "Elite" 10mm. I didn't care for the recoil impulse. The rear sight was working its way out as I shot it, but it grouped well way to the left :)

No. The external dimensions of the slide and forward part of the frame are about the same. The changes were in the internal dimensions of the magazine well and grip. I carry mine (3" 9mm version)...

I went with 9mm merely because I want to shoot more. It's fine for self defense, but I am going into it with the knowledge that 9mm is not 45 ACP and lacks the latter's power.

This is a shot of a pistol used by John Sheppard in Stargate: Atlantis (currently on Hulu, Season 4, Episode 18, 30:29). I am not sure which make and model it is. Does anyone know?
