A long time ago Charles Clawson reminded me that during the war barrels were often changed out like they were spark plugs, since the corrosive ammo of the time would quickly ruin the bore of any...

I agree, the CMP guns may be mixmasters but at least they're legitimate. Problem is, once they're out in the wild you can no longer be sure they haven't been messed with further.

Wyoming has a population of only around 700,000. All it would take is for Amazon to build a new warehouse there and a million liberals would flood the state looking to work there.

These kinds of lawsuits have been going on for years. Even Glock still has to deal with them on occasion, also from people claiming the gun just went off on its own without touching the trigger. With...

Blowback-operated handguns always have a much harsher recoil than locked-breech designs. I briefly owned a Bersa Thunder that stung the palm of my hand whenever I fired it, and that was only a .380!

The problem with these programs to develop something completely new and outside the box is that they rarely survive budget cuts. HK invested a lot of time and money into caseless ammunition during...

Do a search on Gunbroker for "1960" and you'll be surprised what pops up. Colt didn't make many Government Models that year, only 2100 with SN# 285800C-287999C, so that's why you probably haven't...

A day or two ago Classic Firearms got in a crate of surplus Springfield 1903A3 rifles. Refinished and with what appear to be aftermarket birch or pinewood stocks on them. $1300 each. All were...

The serial number indicates 1942 production. Unfortunately the modifications along with the overall condition have relegated this to simply being an interesting shooter.

You sound like one of the guys tasked to maintain Kermit Week's massive vintage aircraft collection. Proud to be able to do it, but probably also jealous as hell!

Regarding restorations, assuming full disclosure then of course yes that's fine. Unfortunately though not all collectors who do that are as honest about it as we would like. If someone told me that a...

The only thing I dislike about the newer alloy Colt trigger is that it's too long. It's actually longer than the original "long" trigger used on the WW1-era M1911. Had they not done that I wouldn't...

Give us a range report on that bad boy when you get a chance. A lot of us are curious how well the AKs from PSA run. As for lubricant, pretty much anything will suffice on an AK as long as you don't...

It has nothing to do with how firmly you hold the pistol. If you were to use a high-speed camera you'd be able to see what happens at the moment of firing, as the pistol shoves back in your hand...

I used to have a SCCY. Reliable gun and great customer service by the manufacturer. I only sold it because the large, blocky grip was 10x worse than even a Glock.

it should be a black aluminum trigger, not plastic. Colt stopped using the plastic triggers in 2000. Triggers are fairly straightforward swaps in a 1911, although some are oversized and will need...

.40 Look at me I'm a .45 generates about the same pressure as a 9mm, but the pressure curve is a lot steeper. That's why a lot of early .40 pistols that were nothing but re-barreled 9mms had...

I never believe sellers' claims that a gun is unfired. I have guns that I've put over a thousand rounds through, and I could easily clean them up well enough to say that they're unfired. It's all a...
