Interesting that they are going for a higher velocity, which means flatter trajectory but barrels that will burn-out faster.

My school system has always had a DARE/SRO who was kept at arms' length by the Administration (e.g. Superintendent and Principals), and was spread too thin among all the schools to be effective....

Plastic is more popular because it is less expensive, not because it is better. But steel 1911s are still the best fighting handgun available, especially those in .45ACP.
