Long term you may be happier with a dovetail - particularly if the gun will be shot a lot.

You would need to go with the 9x23. The 9mm Luger is larger (0.391) at the base than a 38 Super (Super Comp) (0.384), so the chamber would end up too big at the base of the 38 Super.
