Yes, I have taken the knife apart. The bearings are GTC. They are thinner than the ZT bearings but captive and single row as ZT. I'm unfamiliar with the bearings that Spyderco uses.

I use Japanese blade/ camellia oil. Works great on my straight razors and knives. It protects the carbon steel blades from rust, feeds the wood handels and even lubricates the pivot on folders.
