Probably a 600 nitro express. They did use a rimmed 7 mm Mauser double barrel to shoot elephants.

A 444 marlin was advertised as going through 3/8” boiler plate at 50 feet. T. rex no problem.

Why a 1911? Why not a 1911? My first choice was a combat commander in satin nickel. Didn’t like the shorter barrel. Traded it in got a colt gov 70 in nickel. Colt had quality problems at the time....
