I love shooting 1911's BUT if I could only have one gun it would be an H&K. Utmost reliability and enough accuracy. Less maintenance and will probably shoot any ammo except lead. (polygonal barrel)

I never hear much about it on these forums but on all my 5" 1911's I run an STI Recoil Master combo guide rod and spring. Besides making racking the slide easier it aides in takedown.
