44 is a great caliber on deer, kids took six deer last year with single shot CVA's, all under 100 yards. Beyond that bullet drop becomes more pronounced...know your range and limitations.

True, but a bad comparison. Coonan is not a multi-caliber platform where as the Desert Eagle is. When a 357 Coonan can be changed out to accept 50 cal and .44 mag then you might have a point.

Have one in .44, always wanted to pick up the 357 conversion kit. Gas operation makes the hottest load quite tame. Not recommended to shoot lead bullets, but I have known folks who've had no issues...
