"No muzzles over the berm except revolvers during reloads" is quite common at ranges where an errant shot over the berm could result in what you mentioned or worse.

I use VV N-320 for my 9mm's but I have a friend that swears by Sport Pistol. The difference in actual powder cost per round just isn't enough for me to change at this time.
