Novak did both guns for me. The total bill came to right at $200 each, which included milling new dovetail slots plus the sights, and was really worth it. I installed the BHP ambi safety myself.

No. There are no markings anywhere. This is the less expensive Freedom upper that has no T marks either. All of my other PSA uppers have the marks where you describe, but not these.

PSA answered my question on another forum. These uppers are made by PSA, and the marking was deleted since they also make them for other manufacturers.

IMHO if you're going to stick with iron sights the middy has the same sight radius as a full 20" rifle and lends itself to longer ranging shots better. in an SHTF rifle, I think I'd go for the best...
