I suspect tolerance stacking. Ammo at one end of tolerance...

Front sight noticeably canted left.

45 ACP was rough dropping into cylinder. Brass had to be pried out of ejector star after firing....

I measured the tenon and it is .125." Not sure if I need .175" or .180" height for...

Maybe the cast bullets are undersized for your bore. Dig some out of the backstop and see if the rifling is clean or if slippage is apparent.

Sig 8-round mags are ammo finicky. Good luck finding factory 230 grain JHPs that will work. If you go with 185 grain loads, less issues. Or stick with the 7-round mags.
