I was referring to the procedure (tap/rack) more than the finer points of the terminology and what follows the manipulations as being well-established, but OK. That's just how I learned it in my CCW...

Again if I had unlimited time and money it would be more like 1000 rounds. Too much more (2000-5000, depending on the gun) and you start wearing things like recoil springs out, which kind of defeats...

Something that can be corrected with a tap on the back of the slide or a quick rack, like a failure to feed all the way and return to battery. I'd be extremely surprised at a more severe malfunction...

Home is the most important place to carry and I urge my wife to do the same, especially when I'm traveling. Outside the home it's much easier to get away. Here, there are kids, stuff, etc.
