Weight, trigger length, basic design, you can't compare modern plastic guns with a 1911. As far as flat or arched on a 1911 it's kind of a blond VS redhead thing, use what you have or prefer.

About six years ago I picked up a Metro Arms American Classic, fit, finish, accuracy and reliability are outstanding, well under 5 bills and it feeds everything I put through it, mostly cast reloads.

I've truly lost count of how many rounds I've put through my Metro Commander in .45. Very accurate and use it pretty often for small game hunting. You got the deal of a century.
