I would not blend it till you install the KART barrel. The dimensions on the factory barrel feet may not be the same as what you end up when you fit the new barrel

EGW Practical Extractor

Anyone try one of these funky extractors? :)

I just fitted an oversize EGW FP stop, and EGW practical extractor to a SA Loaded model. Added an Ed Brown steel firing pin for good measure.

This was my main concern. I've used 19lb mainsprings in many 1911s and since my only ones as of now have titanium firing pins I didn't want to risk a light strike when I need it.

Titanium firing pin and light mainspring?

Do I need a steel firing pin instead of the factory titanium firing pin (Springfield Loaded model) if I drop to a 17lb mainspring?

I thinned down a feeler gauge and .009 will go up to where the firing pin hole is, the .018 just squeezes into the gap but wont go up.
